Days After Going Viral, Bench “Love All Kinds of Love” Billboard Vandalized, Triggers #PaintTheirHandsBack Online Campaign

Bench has gotten the reputation of being “risky” when it comes to their billboards. They stirred controversy when they displayed billboards of the Philippine Volcanoes wearing nothing but underwear along EDSA. The billboards eventually got dismantled.

Another “risky” yet very tasteful billboard was put up on the smae spot by Bench in time for Valentines Day. With the theme “Love All Kinds of Love,” the series of billboards shows different facets of love.

The campaign featured veteran actress Gloria Romero with grandson, actress Solen Heussaff with fiancee and two same-sex couples: Vince Uy and Nino Gadi, and Ana Paredes and Carla Pena.

Just a few days after making a buzz, the billboard of boyfriends Uy and Gaddi got vandalized when their hands were painted off:

(UPDATE: It looks like Bench was asked to paint the hands off. According Bench’s Promo Manager, “the ad board thinks holding hands is too gay.” (Source: StyleBible.ph)

Netizens were quick to exact “revenge” to whoever did this and started an online campaign, #PaintTheirHandsBack.

Artist Rob Cham initiated the campaign and redid the couple’s hands by drawing Mickey Mouse-like gloves.

I hope you continue writing on Kismet and Ang Huling Awit ng Sisne. I notice that you are more active here than in your other sites. I’m a new reader. And I have read all of your posts from After All to Kismet. And I love them. The twists, the turns, the climax, the denouement and everything about it. I even love your writing style. 🙂

Hey Ayg. Yeah, medyo matagal ko na ngang hindi nasusundan yung mga stories. Sorry. I’ve been really busy and medyo walang makuhang inspiration to write again. But I promise I’ll write again soon

What do you think?
